Conference 2020

The Conference is the governing body of the Methodist Church and meets annually to discuss matters affecting the life of the Church, the nation and the world. The Methodist Council has agreed that the Conference cannot meet as planned in Telford in June and has decided that it will meet online this year.

Conference sessions, including the Induction of the President and Vice-President, and Reception into Full Connexion, both of which will take place on Saturday 27 June, will be streamed live as usual.

There will be approximately two delegates from each district. This year our Rev. Andy Moffoot is representing Southampton District at Conference. Please hold him especially in your prayers.

Flowers of Hope

Over the last few years many TMC folk and friends from the wider community have worked together to create a fully decorated Christmas tree and amazing poppy displays to mark important anniversaries.

Although we are currently socially isolated, we suggest that folk from the church and Tilehurst community could work together to knit or crochet flowers from left over wool (in any colour or pattern) which could then be attached to green streamers and used to wrap around the railings outside the church where they would be seen as a symbol that there is still life and activity although appearances may suggest otherwise with the building currently closed. Further information from Joan or Don Moffat (0118 9421680)

TMC Rainbows

Holly needs your help! The glass porch at TMC is decorated with the lighthouse that lots of you helped make at the Light Party. We would love you to fill the porch with a rainbow collage instead! All that cardboard in the photo needs covering up... The examples are cut out of magazines, but you can use anything you like, and you can make them as big as you like too. One tip - it helps to paint or colour your rainbow first, it'll make the collage easier. Please call Holly for details of where to drop off your rainbows by Monday June 1st.
